During 17-20th June 2024, over 200 alumni descended on the picturesque town of Karlskrona in southern Sweden to celebrate a wonderful milestone – the 20th anniversary of the Master’s programme in Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability (MSLS).
Currently, there are over 800 alumni from the programme who are leading and working towards sustainability across multiple sectors of society in over 90 countries around the world. This is a great result and it is fair to say that this programme has made an important contribution to cross-pollination, to spreading Swedish expertise on sustainability, and in developing the field globally over the last decades.
In particular, the programme has been instrumental in promoting the Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development around the world, something that supports the mission of The Natural Step. We are proud to have contributed to the success of the programme as a key partner since the very beginning. The Natural Step Germany was represented by Edwin Janssen, our German senior advisor. Many representatives from our network were involved in the design of the programme, many others have been guest contributors and many alumni have joined The Natural Step teams over the years.
We look back at a wonderful reunion and the many new and refreshed connections with the MSLS community around the globe and congratulate Blekinge Institute of Technology on its pioneering work with one of Sweden’s first sustainability master’s programmes.
